L E Revels, Jr., 69 of East Ridge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home among family and friends. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class after more than 21 years of service and served two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors and watching boxing. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who loved music and dancing. He was a loving and devoted father, brother, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, L E and Margie Revels, brothers, Billy and Jerry Revels, and sisters, Janie Carlton, Joyce Duckett, and Judy Clark.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Revels of Tunnel Hill, Michael & (Jennifer) Revels of East Ridge, and his daughter, Linda Revels of East Ridge, sister, Pat Clark of Rossville, grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney, Ryan, Alicia, Maria, a special nephew, Robert Link of Germany, and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
