Mr. Martin was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a member of the Church of the Crossroads.
Mr. Martin was employed as a commercial fisherman on various fishing vessels out of the Port of New Bedford.
Survivors include his mother; his companion; 2 sons, Kirk Howe of New Bedford and Shane Martin of Acushnet; a daughter, Chantel Howe of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Scott Martin of Fairhaven, Wade Martin of Acushnet and Gilly Niles of California; a sister, Darcy Martin of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 8, 2003 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
