Eli Gerberich died at his resident in Lena Monday evening, after several days illness, aged about 60 years. The cause of his death was inflammation of the bowels and lungs. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania and came to this country in the fifties, settling near Damascus. Later he moved to Richland and from there came to Lena about two weeks ago. He leaves a wife and children to mourn his departure. The funeral was held at the house Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, and after a short service the remains were taken to McConnell, where they were buried in the Lutheran Cemetery.
