Norma Betty Grant passed away on July 29 in Santa Barbara, CA. Born in Ogdensburg, NY to William and Jessie McBath on July 26, 1925, Norma grew up on a family farm on the St. Lawrence River.

Norma graduated Potsdam Teachers College and obtained a master's degree in history from Cornell University, where she met her husband, Donald.

In 1953, Norma, Don and their daughter, Roberta, arrived in Belmont Shore, California. They moved to Naples in 1956. Norma taught elementary and junior high students for 33 years in the LBUSD.

Norma enjoyed gardening and was an active participant and prize-winner in the Naples Garden Club. She administered the Lakewood Garden Club's scholarship donations to LBCC botanical students. She was also an avid birder and took part in the annual bird counts for the El Dorado branch of the Audobon Society. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe and Israel.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Grant; her sister, Anne Powers; her niece, Barbara Cristman; and her nephews, Jack Powers and Robert Powers.
