Edith Roberta Fox was born on Oct. 8, 1917, to William and Opal Gull in Amoret, Mo. Edith graduated from Webb City High School as the valedictorian. Edith attended a year of college at the North East Oklahoma Teacher College before she married John Fox and they began their family together. John and Edith were married for close to 67 years before John passed away.
Edith was an active member at the Pollard United Methodist Church while she lived in the Tyler area. Edith loved to read books, but most of all she loved her family. She was a true care giver. Whether it was taking care of her siblings when she was younger, her own children as they grew, or her husband throughout their wonderful life together, Edith was always taking care and looking after the needs of others.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, John Fox Sr,; her son, John Fox Jr.; and her daughter, Roberta Ann Fox. But Edith's legacy lives on through her son, William Fox and his wife Annabelle, son, Gordon Fox; daughter, Linda Helsper and her husband William. Edith also leaves behind five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Carl Gull, and sister, Wilma Hughes.
Edith will be laid to rest at the Tyler Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at 1 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pollard United Methodist Church at 3030 Copeland Rd, Tyler, 75701.
