John E. Oldham, 76, Roaring Spring, died Friday evening at UPMC Altoona, following a threeyear battle with cancer.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Thomas and Helen (Daugherty) Oldham. He married Sandra Joy Thompson on April 16, 1988.

He is survived by his wife; three children: Karen A. Mobley of Lancaster, Jackie A. McConnell and husband, Archie, of Lancaster, and Tom Oldham and wife, Chris, of Johnstown; two stepchildren: Debbie G. Assad of Monessen and Gary W. Hatch of Bethlehem; and six grandchildren.

John attended Faith Assembly of God, Roaring Spring.

He retired from Appleton Papers in 1992 after 35 years of service.

He was a 1955 graduate of Roaring Spring High School.

He enjoyed traveling and reading. John had served on Roaring Spring Borough Council for many years.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Pastor Jeremiah Baker. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
