Died
RISDON - In San Rafael, September 9th, Mrs. H.T. Risdon, aged 81 years.
As one alights at home from a journey, pleased and satisfied with the voyage, but weary and glad to get back, so, on Thursday last, passed a dear old lady, Grandma Risdon, to her rest. Sixty years a wife, age 81. Eight times a mother, 4 sons, and 4 daughters. Two of the latter, Mrs. George Pardee, and Mrs. J.O. Eldridge, died before her. The surviving daughters are Mrs. Allen Lee, and Mrs. Ed Martin. Her 4 sons are all living on this coast. About 10 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Risdon left their vineyard home at Fruitvale, and have since lived with Mrs. Lee, frequently visiting their other children, and a more cheerful and happy couple one never meets. Although so old in years, Mrs. Risdon was in other things a young lady. Her faculties were unimpaired, her mind was keen, her humor perennial, and she was delightful company. A few days before the end, she said she was ready and anxious to go, but she had never said so before. Her life was a psalm of gladness and beauty, and her death a peaceful and welcome sleep.
