June was born July 22, 1919 in Chula, the daughter of Walter and Jessie Slater Carson. She graduated from Chula High School in 1937 and attended Central Missouri State at Warrensburg. On Dec. 18, 1945 she was united in marriage to J.B. "Bill" Carver in Independence. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2002. After their marriage they farmed in the Osgood and Galt area.
They moved to Kansas City in 1946, where their daughter Joy was born in 1947. In 1954 they moved to Humphreys, where they owned and operated the Carver General Store. Their sons were both born in Trenton, John in 1950 and Jim in 1957. In 1958 they moved to Warrensburg, where June went back to school, earning a degree in elementary education, while raising her family. In 1959 they returned to Trenton, where June has resided for 48 years teaching at the S.M. Rissler Elementary School after it opened and until she retired in 1982. She had taught school in Independence, Osgood and Galt before teaching at Trenton.
In retirement, June volunteered for the American Cancer Society and the Church Women United, where she managed the Thrift Shop for a year. Since February, she has resided at the Waterford Ladies Home in Blue Springs.
June belonged to the First Christian Church and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. June was an avid sports fan throughout her life, supporting her Trenton Bulldogs, Kansas City Royals and Chiefs and Missouri Tigers. Her family was the focus of her life and the education of young children was her life long gift. She expressed a tireless commitment of unconditional love to her family and friends.
