Jose F. Quesada burial Thursday (Friday, March 19, 1954) In Wickenburg Cemetery, overlooking much of the country where he spent many years as a cowboy and cattleman, the body of Jose F. Quesada was laid to rest at 3 p.m. Thursday of this week.
He passed away at the age of 79 Tuesday morning at his home on Price Road, east of Tempe, where he had lived since leaving Wickenburg in 1944. Mr. Quesada had been in ill health for several years but was seriously ill for only about 10 days prior to his death.
Born in Lower California on March 19, 1875, Mr. Quesada moved with his parents to California when very young. In 1897 he moved to Yuma and in 1901 to Phoenix.
Later, he came to the Wickenburg area and for many years raised cattle here, worked as a cowboy for Remuda Ranch for the late Dr. William Fletcher and for the Kay El Bar Ranch when it was owned by Jon Ross.
Mr. Quesada married Francisca Ocampo in Wickenburg in 1918. She is the sister of Marcella Ocampo, well known employee of the Wickenburg Post Office.
