Leonard A. Beisner
Funeral services for Leonard A. Beisner, 72, were held Tuesday, June 18 at Vernon Lutheran Church in rural Dows. Burial was at the Vernon Lutheran Church Cemetery. Officiating were Pastor Roger Dykstra and Pastor David Anderson.
Mr. Beisner died in his home in Williams of a coronary June 14.
Mr. Beisner was born to parents Herman C. and Augusta Bauman Beisner. He attended Dows schools. He married Jennie Tapper at Rockford Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois on Dec. 21, 1932.
Mr. Beisner was owner and manager of Farmers Elevator Company in Williams for 41 years after coming to Williams in 1934.
He was a lifelong member of the Vernon Lutheran Church and served as a Deacon , Trustee and a Council Member. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Williams.
Surviving Mr. Beisner are: one daughter, Mrs. Alan (Sharon) Cartuth of Dows; one son, Leonard (Bud) Beisner, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Culley Caruth of Dows, Todd Beisner of Phoenix, Arizona, and Scott Beisner of Little Rock, Arkansas; and one sister, Elsa Domres of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Beisner was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister and one grandchild, Ky Alan Caruth.
