Obituary:Doris S. Donohue, 87, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born January 10, 1926 in Rome the daughter of Carl and Ellen Tyrrell Schuler. She was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy. On October 25, 1948 she married Samuel F. Donohue.
Doris was a long-time member of St. Peter's Church. Her family was the world to her. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed their special holiday celebrations and her summer months in Inlet with her husband. When her family was young, they enjoyed many years of camping in the Adirondacks.
Surviving besides her beloved husband of 64 years, Sam, are: two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Robert Griffin, of Rome, and Sheila and Jeff Conley, of Camden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Marta Donohue, of New Hartford, and Michael and Susan Donohue, of Ava; nine grandchildren, Robert (Diane) Griffin, Megan (Jason) Anderegg, Kelly (Steve) George, Melissa Donohue, Brian Donohue, Jessica Donohue, Brandon Donohue, Evan Conley, and Cailin Conley; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Taylor, Jack, Dylan, Charlotte, and Griffin; two sisters-in-law, Sr. Walter Marie Donohue and Rosemary Donohue; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven sisters, Lauretta Nelson, Marien Bacon, Kathleen Schuler, Nora Schuler, Margaret Thorpe, Rosemary Beck, and Rita Barry, and four brothers, Philip, John, William and Robert Schuler.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 AM at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St, Rome, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6pm.
