Ethel Florence Woodmansee
1930~2013
Our loving mother and grandmother earned her long awaited reunion with her earthly and Heavenly Father on August 6, 2013. She was born September 14, 1930 in Salt Lake City to David Callis and Ethel Baker Callis. Her body succumbed to multiple afflictions that hindered her quality of life these past few years. A thanks to all who looked over her, Mom spoke highly of the love and care shown to her.
She married Edwin C. Wimmer in November of 1948 and had two beautiful daughters; later divorced.
Florence married William Joseph Woodmansee on December 31, 1959 in Van Nuys, California. Together they raised their family, Sherie Wimmer, Gayle Pulliam (Doug Mathias), David (Christine), Mark (Nena), and Scott (Angie).
Survived by her husband William (Woody), her sister Margaret Morley, her loving children, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
After moving her family to Utah, Florence retired from a career with Utah Adult Probation and Parole. She also spent many years working for LDS Hospital, even working into her eighties.
She loved to travel, but her greatest love was her family.
Florence had a profound love for and a relationship with her Savior. She spent numerous hours in prayer and encouraged her loved ones to do the same. Above all, she wanted them to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved unconditionally and was a very forgiving soul. Her grandchildren adore her and she will be truly missed. We know she will be our guardian angel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Immediately following the service, her final resting place will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
