Wanda Vance

The funeral service for homemaker and retired automotive industry employee Wanda Sanders Vance of Paris was scheduled at 10 a.m. today at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Larry Lafferty, a hospice chaplain, was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Family and friends were chosen as pallbearers.

Visitation was Sunday.

Vance, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at her residence.

She was married on July 7, 1979, to Lloyd Wayne Vance, who survives.

Born Feb. 4, 1934, in Bay, Ark., she was a daughter of Claude and Lona Easter Sanders, now both deceased.

Vance was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a volunteer at the Henry County Fairgrounds and according to a family member, loved her family and really enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

She also leaves one daughter: Merri (Wally) Harris of Cicero, Ill.; two sisters: Carolyn Sanders and Phyllis (Kenneth) Dugan, both of Jonesboro, Ark.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Tami Brautigan; five sisters; and four brothers.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

She was the daughter of the late Claude Sanders and Lona Easter Sanders. On July 7, 1979 she married Lloyd Wayne Vance, he survives in Paris, TN.

Survived by daughter: Merri (Wally) Harris, Cicero, IL; Sisters: Carolyn Sanders, Jonesboro, AR and Phyllis (Kenneth) Dugan, Jonesboro, AR. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wanda was a long time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She worked and retired as a factory worker in the automotive industry. She worked as a volunteer at the Henry County Fairgrounds and was a Homemaker who loved her family and really enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.
