Marlene F. (Knipfel) Rupp, 81, of New Holland, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Greta (Hagemann) Herber. She was married 10 years on July 17 to Eugene Rupp. Her first husband, Robert Knipfel, died Dec. 26, 1986.

Marlene immigrated to the United States in 1967. She attended Christian Fellowship Church and was a longtime volunteer of New Holland Summer Arts. She worked for about 15 years as supervisor at the former SLC in Blue Ball. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Donna, married to Richard Tyas of St. Peters, MO, Debra, married to David Keneagy of Pequea, Dianne, married to Michael Feeley of Lakeland, FL, Dayle McGarvey of New Holland; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Joyce, married to Ronald Stern of New Holland, and Karen, married to Dennis Boettner of New Holland; and a sister, Jeanette, married to Hubert Kuehl of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Bobbie Rae McGarvey.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 12 at 11 am at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland with the Reverend Fred P. Raupp officiating. Private interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10-11 am.
