A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery, with the Rev. Douglass Key officiating. The service also will be for his wife, Doris Richey Murphy, who died Oct. 13, 2003.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mr. Murphy was a son of the late Shannon Wiley Murphy Sr. and Madeline Lee Bashaw Murphy Clinton. He retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army and was commander of Clover Armory. He was owner and operator of Clover Insurance Agency, was a member of Clover Presbyterian Church and was a member of Masonic Alpine Lodge 208.
Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Grace of Fort Mill; and two grandchildren.
