Ella (née Dennison) Werts was born about 1855 in Clinton County, Pennsylvania to Hiram and Louisa (née Whaling) Dennison. Ella's birth mother died between 1855-1859. Her father, Hiram remarried to Elizabeth Weaver in 1859.

In the obituary notice for Ella's brother, Andrew Dennison, it references both Ella and Mary. Ella passed away at about the age of 28 on April 20, 1886 in Shintown, Pennsylvania.

The Renovo Record, Thur., April 22, 1886.
Died. Werts - At Shintown, this county, on Tuesday, the 20th inst., the wife of Mr. John Werts, aged about 28 years. She leaves a husband and three children.

Ella's husband, John S. Werts remarried to Sarah Emily (née DeGraff). John was buried with Sarah in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Per Clinton County Genealogical Society:
"The river flat where Ella's father, Hiram Dennison resided became two farms. One was his original homestead and the other was given to his daughter, Ella, wife of John Werts."

Deed Book 41-745. Assignment of all Real Estate from Hiram Dennison to his children, Andrew, John and Ella, dated January 28, 1878 and recorded March 4, 1886 at DB 41-745. Andrew received the West end of the farm, Ella received the East end of the farm and John received the balance. No acreage provided.

Renovo Record- April 21, 1887
The funeral of Mr. Andrew Oliver Dennison took place on the south side of the river, about one mile east of Keating station on Friday, April 15, at 2:30 o'clock, on the farm on which he had lived ever since his birth.

Mr. Dennison had suffered for months with that lingering disease, consumption, to which his father, Hiram Dennison fell a prey, some years ago. The family of Hiram Dennison consisted of Jennie, Mary, Andrew O., Wm. T., Ella and John M., of whom Andrew O., Mary and Ella have crossed the river.
Ella (née Dennison) Werts was born about 1855 in Clinton County, Pennsylvania to Hiram and Louisa (née Whaling) Dennison. Ella's birth mother died between 1855-1859. Her father, Hiram remarried to Elizabeth Weaver in 1859.
