Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel McCafferty, 74, of route 1, Athens, who died Saturday at the home of a nephew, O.C. Wilbanks, route 6, Palestine, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rock Church.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Marvin Johnson of Athens. Interment was in the Rock Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McCafferty had been ill for one month.
Surviving are two sons, J.W. Gatewood, route 1, Tennessee Colony and Eugene McCafferty, Carpenteria, California; two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Levassar, route 1, Athens and Mrs. Nettie Whitehead, route 6, Palestine; a sister, Mrs. Susie Wilbanks, route 6, Palestine; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
