Roth, Allen Robert, 96, of Benwood WV., died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling.
He was born December 9, 1911 in Marshall County, WV., the son of the late John R. And Ocie Johnson Roth. Mr. Roth was retired employee with Wheeling Welding Co.; and Bethlehem Water and Sewage Department; he was a US Army WWII veteran and a member of the Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 75 years, Violet Madlyne Smith Roth in 2007; three brothers, and a daughter, Joan Borchart.
Surviving are three daughters, Eleanor Lou Cross of Virginia Beach, VA, Judy Penick and her husband, Richard of Belpre, OH and Robin Burkhart and her husband, David of Glen Dale, WV; 11 grandchildren, Chuck Borchart, Jeff Borchart, K. L. Cross, Karna Kernes, Kandi Cross, Jody Prunty, Amy Penick, Julie Halliday, Eric Lipinski, Ashley Bock and Brooke Lipinski; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Nelson and Kimberly Burge; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica Field, Lisa Borchart, Sarah Borchart, Jamie Borchart, Chelsey Kernes, Codie Kernes, Carley Lipinski and Koy Lipinski; 1 great-great- granddaughter, and five great- step- grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6- 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 36th & Jacob St., South Wheeling, where service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend David Lawrence officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.
