Services for Julia Fitzgerald, age 99, of Palestine, Texas will be at 3:00 P.M Saturday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Miss Fitzgerald died December 12, 2913 at Cartmell Home for Aged. She was born December 14, 1913 in Palestine to John Boyd Fitzgerald and Fannie Elizabeth Goines Fitzgerald. Miss Fitzgerald was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 3 year olds for 75 years. She sang in the church choir and was a faithful member of the WMU. She graduated from Texas Women University in Denton, receiving her degree in food service. She was retired from Palestine ISD with 20 plus years of service. Miss Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Roy Fitzgerald, Elmer Fitzgerald, and Maurice Fitzgerald, four sisters, Ollie Waggoner, Thelma Connally, Jewel Seeliger, and Eudella Seymour, and a niece, Fannie Moon. She is survived by her sister Margaret Fitzgerald of Palestine, a niece, Boots Adams of College Station, three nephews, Frank Waggoner of Jacksonville, Rev. Bill Connally of Waco and Donald Earl Seymour of Wills Point. Pallbearers will be David Richie, Ricky Naismith, Steve Jenkins, Bob Metteauer, Raymond Rogers, and Jerry Mitchell. Those wishing to make memorial donations to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions or to the pre-school at the First Baptist Church.
