The name of Lieutenant Ernest Evans of 2438 Ellsworth Street was omitted from the list of Berkeley men who lost their lives during the great war. Lieutenant Evans was a member of former Company C. National Guards and served on the Mexican border and later Colfax, and it was during this service that he contracted the disease which later resulted in his death. Lieutenant Evans was a member of Company C, 159th Infantry. His death occurred more than a year ago at his home, where he was brought from Letterman Hospital, where he was for a number of months.
