Syble Lelia Hawkins McCraw, age 89, formerly of Spencer, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at the Stanleytown Health Care Center.

She was born on August 1, 1924 in McDowell County, WV to the late Levi Preston Hawkins and Myrtle Dellar Carper Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. McCraw, Sr.; two brothers, Preston and Kyle Hawkins; six sisters, Hazel Hale, Kathlene McNeeley, Patty Volpe, Florence McCraw, Alma Wendel and Della Hawkins.

She was a member of Friendly Christian Church and had been a private-duty CNA for over 20 years and also had a real estate brokers license.

She is survived by four sons, Edward H. McCraw, Jr. of Brooklyn, Mich., Billy D. McCraw of Collinsville, Larry M. McCraw of Spencer and Mark S. McCraw of Eden, N.C., two daughters, Debra J. Manson of Sandy Ridge, N.C. and Ginger L. McAlexander of Ashland, Va.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Don Forrester officiating the service and interment following in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday and at other times at the home of a son, Billy McCraw, 61 Perry Street, Collinsville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Friendly Christian Church, 735 Friendly Church Road, Martinsville, VA 24112.
