Andover, Kan. — Thomas G. Pyle, 75, passed away Aug. 5, 2013 at Life Care of Andover. Celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Towanda. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.

Thomas was born July 21, 1938 in Wichita, the son of Albert G. and Lura Mae (Cox) Pyle. Thomas graduated from Towanda High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Covalt on Oct. 18, 1957 at the Towanda United Methodist Church. Thomas was a member of the Lions club for 50 years, was the Towanda Volunteer Fire Chief for 35 years, member of the First Baptist Church in Towanda and sang in the church choir. Thomas and his wife Marilyn were Campers on Mission in several states and worked at Silver Dollar City for 10 seasons. He loved his motorcycles, woodworking and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of the home; children, Thomas C. and wife Linda of Towanda, Deanna and husband Brett Gaffney, Brad and wife Stasey all of Wichita, and Christy and husband Rob Taylor II of El Dorado; sisters, Nora Gene and husband Rod McWilliams and Gayle DaMetz, all of Towanda, and Alberta Gardner of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, Alex (Jessica) Pyle, Alecia, Austin and Adam Pyle, Tyffani (Jordan) Herrman, Lauren and Cody Taylor; and three great grandchildren, Alawna, Aiden and Austyn Herrman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
