Raymond Carl "Fats" Arnold, 86, of Martin, TN, formerly of Dresden, TN, died Thursday August 8, 2013 at his residence. Graveside services will be Sunday August 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at West Union Cemetery near Dresden with burial immediately following. Visitation will be Sunday from Noon until 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Arnold was born April 27, 1927 in Troy, TN to the late Emmett and Annie Lee Wallace Arnold. He was a laborer who worked for Bridges Milling Company in Dresden and the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was Baptist in faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Verna Marie "Sis" Stewart Arnold whom he married July 23, 1952.
Mr. Arnold is survived by four sons, Jackie Arnold, Gary Arnold and Barry Arnold of Dresden and Marty (Brenda) Arnold of Martin; three daughters, Nancy Puckett of Modesto, CA, Connie (Tim) Smith of Martin and Christie Arnold of Dresden; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and some great great grandchildren; and a sister, Eudora Gaines of Nashville, TN.
