Matthew James Snyder, 34, of Dayton, died unexpectedly Wednesday Aug. 7, 2013, at home. Born Feb. 7, 1979, in Kittanning, he was a son of James and Nelda (Hollenbaugh) Snyder, of Dayton. Matthew worked at Evergreen Homes and was a member of Dayton United Methodist Church and Dayton Grange. He was a graduate of Dayton High School in 1997 and a graduate of Butler County Community College. He liked line dancing, collecting die cast model Mustangs, playing basketball, drawing, country music, golfing and lip-synching. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his uncles, Dale (Michelle) Hollenbaugh, of Dayton, and Bob (Mary Ann) Snyder, of Dayton; aunt, Shirley Snyder, of Kittanning; numerous cousins; two dogs, Winston and Fluffy; and two cats, Braveheart and Cuddles. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Wilda Hollenbaugh; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Nina Snyder; and uncle, Dave Snyder. Friends will be received 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Additional visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, the time of services, at Dayton Methodist Church, with Pastor Dennis Howard officiating. Interment will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery.
