Retired farmer expires after illness with heart trouble
Redwood, Jan 3-Edward D. Bertram died at his home here Sunday morning at 6. He was the son of Edward Bertram and Mary Ford, who came over from England and settled near Theresa about 1840. He was born Sept. 22, 1849, in the town of Theresa and spent his early life there.
On Dec. 13, 1876 he married Alice Pierce of Goose Bay. Shortly afterward he bought a farm at Goose Bay, which he occupied until he removed to Redwood in 1919. Lately he had been suffering from heart trouble. He was a member of the Kirkland Grange.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Adrah Bertram; two sons, Edward and Edson Bertram of Redwood. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm from the home. The Rev. Ernst Bragg of the Methodist church officiating. Internment will be made in the Redwood Cemetery.
