Sad Death of Mrs. Cornelius Ring
The sudden death of Mrs. Cornelius Ring occurred at the home in the town of Sand Lake Saturday morning at ten o'clock. The cause of the death was general peritonitis.
Mary Ann Lumbar was born at Taylor's Falls MN, June 10, 1851, and was the daughter of Peter Lumbar. The family moved to Couderay in 1885, and two years later went to Superior for a year. They then came to Sawyer County for permanent residence. She was married to Cornelius Ring at Osceola, in 1873. The husband and one daughter, Mrs. Chester Terrill, and one son Charles, survive. Also three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Scott of Sand Lake, Mrs. George Goodsell of Signor, and Miss Hattie Lumbar of Sand Lake, and two brothers, Henry of Sand Lake and Charles of Springbrook. All but one, Charles, were present.
The funeral occurred Monday at 10AM from the Catholic Church at Reserve, Rev. Fr. Zehnle conducting the service. It was attended by the whole community, a testimony of the great respect in which Mrs. Ring was held and of the sincere sympathy for those so sadly bereaved.
The burial was in the cemetery at Reserve, where the parents, a son and daughter, and one brother rest.
Mrs. Ring was a most faithful wife and loving mother and a noble, Christian woman. That the happy, united family should thus be broken is sad indeed. Yet the memory of this noble life will ever remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
