Gerald Franklin Hendricks, 90, of Clyde, Ohio, formerly of Columbus, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.

Mr. Hendricks was a 1939 graduate of Columbus High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1945.

He was one of the original founders and principle owner of SIECO, Inc., serving as president as well as consulting civil engineer. He had been a construction engineer at Camp Atterbury, was assistant engineer for the Indiana State Board of Health for five years and an operation consultant at the Columbus sewage facilities. Mr. Hendricks was appointed by Mayor Fred Armstrong to represent Columbus in the Eastern Bartholomew County Rural Sewage System.

Mr. Hendricks was a life member of American Water Works Association and Federated Sewage Works Association and was a member of First Christian Church in Columbus.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Section 83 at Garland Brook Cemetery, with David Burnett officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Family and friends are invited to attend an informal gathering at Donner Center following the graveside service.

Born in North Vernon March 12, 1922, Mr. Hendricks was the son of Ray Waldo and Ollie Dickey Hendricks. He married Ruth Malan June 25, 1944. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2001. He later married Flora Young Daugherty January 1, 2004.

Mr. Hendricks is survived by his wife, Flora; children, Edwin Hendricks of Delaware, OH, Judith Ann Cardassilaris of Muncie, Cynthia (Dan) Sublette of Red Oak, TX, and Anthony (Darlene Cook) Hendricks of Madison, WI; a stepdaughter, Maria Coppes of Continental, OH; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruth; an infant son, Daniel Hendricks; a daughter, Ellen Hendricks; a brother, Kenneth Hendricks; and sisters, Marie Hendricks and Margaret Mowery.
