Victoria Rae Chambers, 91, of Bear Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at home with her family by her side. She was born on Dec. 7, 1921, in Detroit, the daughter of Rubert and Jessie (Gooden) Youmans.
Victoria loved to go to the casino and play cards, especially SkipBo and 7-Up. She was a birdwatcher, an avid reader and a talented painter. She loved to travel with her husband and was a member of the Airstream Association. She also enjoyed square dancing.
Victoria loved to spend time with her family. She cooked many family meals and was a wonderful baker. Her grandchildren were her life. Victoria had an unshakable faith in God, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Victoria is survived by: one daughter, Vicki (Bill) Girven of Bear Lake; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 46 great-great-grandchildren.
On July 3, 1938, in Central Lake, Victoria married William Eugene Chambers, who preceded her in death in 2009. Victoria was also preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Ronald Chambers; one daughter, Carole Short; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva. Interment will follow in the Pleasanton Township Cemetery in Bear Lake.
