GREENSBORO - Ms. Leigh Ann Westmoreland Carey, born Oct. 2, 1961, left her loving family July 31, 2002.

She will be loved and remembered as a wonderful and special daughter, sister, aunt and friend by her mother and father, Annie (Bodenheimer) and Jim Westmoreland of Pfafftown; her brother and his family, Jim, Lisa and treasured nephew Jimmy Westmoreland of Whitsett; and beloved family members and close friends throughout the Triad.

Leigh Ann was a graduate of North Forsyth Senior High School, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, graduate of Salem College, Danville School of Nursing and was pursuing her master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill while employed as a nurse with Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel conducted by Dr. Cecil Cave. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Guilford County Animal Shelter 4525 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409.
