She was the daughter of Almerin and Amy Emma (nee Strachan) Turner; Mary married Allen Puffer on 2 Jul 1879, in Kane Co, IL. Allen passed away 30 Jun 1890, in Elgin, at age 36 yrs.

Along with Mary, Nellie Turner is buried in this plot in a marked grave. Allen's grave is not marked. Others may be buried here, but any additional graves are unmarked. I suspect that Mary's parents, Almerin and Emma are buried in this plot, also Mary's brother Roswell Turner.
Almerin Turner was a physician, he was born about 1808 in CT; he died in Elgin on 19 Apr 1890. Almerin's wife, Emma Strachen was born about 1817 in Liverpool, England, she died in Elgin on 10 Feb 1890.

There is another Almerin Turner in the Elgin records. Llso a physician, he was born about 1820 in CT and died in Elgin on 4 Apr 1865.

Mary possibly had a son Fred Almerin Turner-Puffer (2 Nov 1870 - 13 Apr 1942).
