Clarence, who resided at 824 Jackson Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Staff Sergeant & Tail Gunner on B-24H (#41-29326), 763rd Bomber Squadron, 460th Bomber Group, Fifteenth Air Force, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Clarence was "Killed In Action" over what was known as Yugoslovia during the war. He was decorated with an Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
