Obituary
Ada L. Long was born August 26, 1869, near Waukon, Iowa, and departed this life December 13, 1901, aged thirty-two years, three months and eighteen days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carpenter at the Spring Hill church, December 15, after which her remains were interred in the Belleville cemetery.
Ada came to Kansas in 1878 with her parents and was united in marriage to Osco Beck May 24, 1891, from which union two girls and one boy were born. Mrs. Beck made a profession of religion in 1890 at Eureka, Kan., and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Agenda. The esteem in which she was held by her neighbors and all who knew her speaks louder than words could of the noble, unselfish life she lived.
She leaves a husband, three children, a mother, two sisters, three brothers and a multitude of friends to mourn her loss. Though she is gone from us we will ever remember her cherry, unselfish life. So kind and charitable, ever ready to do noble deeds. God's ways are not our ways, so we will reverently bow our heads and say, His will be done.
