Sybil V. Brooks (Wright), former resident of Flora Vista, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Centrahoma, Okla.
Sybil and her husband, Ernest, former residents of Flora Vista, worked faithfully in several churches in the Farmington area for many years. Sybil moved to Lubbock after her husband's death where she continued as a faithful servant of the Lord.
Sybil is preceded in death by husband, Ernest Brooks, who died April 27, 1995.
She was survived by four sons, Merlin Brooks of Cottonwood, Ariz., Eugene Brooks of Albuquerque, Cliff Brooks of Boerne, Texas and Don Brooks of Lubbock; two sisters, Wilene Costanzo of Lexington, Ky., and Bernice Wright; one brother, J.D. Wright of Medford, Ore.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12 also at Cope Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.
