Alexander R.K. Buchanan died Feb. 14, 2005, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home, at the age of 82.

Born Feb. 6, 1923, in Lahaina, Maui, he was a refuse collector with the County of Kauai.

He is survived by his wife: Ethel Leimomi Palama Buchanan; daughters: Leimomi (Peter) Tompson of Maine and Marvelin (Claudio) Clini of Milan, Italy; son Alexander (Lilinoe) Buchanan Jr. of Waimea, Hawaii (Big Island); sister: Harriett Panana B. Dennison of Kaunakakai, Molokai; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kalaheo Ward. Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. with services starting at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Berino. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
