Virden-Matthew W. McClain, 25, of Virden, IL passed away at 5:23 P.M. Friday May 24, 2013 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Matthew was born February 12, 1988 in Taylorville, IL a son to William & Diane (Hornbeck) Stigleman.
Matthew graduated from Virden High School class of 2006. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and playing the guitar. He attended the Abundant Life Church in Auburn, IL. Matthew worked as a truck driver for Whalen Trucking, Waverly, IL.
Surviving Matthew are his parents, father, William McClain; mother, Diane Stigleman (husband, John); brother, Ryan McClain of Virden, IL; stepbrother, Erich Stigleman grandmothers, Ruth Hornbeck of Pana, IL, and Betty McClain of Davenport, IA and several cousins. Matthew is preceded in death by his grandfathers.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon Tuesday May 28, 2013 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Virden, IL with the service starting at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Tony Sale officiating. Memorials may be made to the McClain family. Interment will be in the Virden Cemetery.
