Mr. Freddie Bell Jr., 73, of Pontiac, Mich., died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo. Born Feb. 3, 1933, in Greenwood, Miss., the son of Freddie Bell Sr. and Mary Lee Bell, he was a member of St. John United Methodist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Frederick B. Moore in Pontiac. According to family members, he enjoyed ushering, bowling and fishing. He was retired from GMC Pontiac Motors in Pontiac after serving 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Bell, and two brothers, Sammie Lee Bell and Tommy Lee Bell.
Mr. Bell leaves his son, Freddie Bell III of Pontiac;
His fiancee, Madeliene Sullivan of Pontiac;
His father, Freddie Bell Sr. of Caruthersville, Mo.;
Three brothers, Jesse Lee Bell and his wife, Etta, Phedentry Bell and his wife, Peggy, and Henry Bell, all of Caruthersville;

Five sisters, Annie Lee Prather and her husband, Willie C., Willie Mae Taylor, Malissie Harris and Martha Driver, all of Caruthersville, and Mary Ann Tyner and her husband, Oscar, of Gathersburg, Md.;

One sister-in-law, Birdie Bell of Caruthersville;
One stepgrandaughter, Katrina George of Pontiac; and
A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, with the Rev. Frederick B. Moore Sr. and Bishop James L. Lane officiating. Burial followed in the Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville.
