Dwayne Richard 'Mike' Gallagher

GALLAGHER, Dwayne Richard "Mike" " Passed away on June 10, 2005, from Lymphoma, in Eugene, Oregon, at the home of his daughter, Karen Marie Bulkeley.

Mike was born in Ransom, North Dakota, on October 22, 1931, the sixth of seven children born to Richard Carson and Madge Dewey Purdy Stark Gallagher. He served in the United States Army from October 2, 1952, until his discharge in 1956. He was in the infantry unit during the Korean War from December 1952 until June 1953.

Mike was united in marriage to Georgia Lee Henn in Frazee, Minnesota, on June 17, 1957, (divorced in 1972). They moved out west to Roseburg, Oregon, in 1965 and raised four children.

Mike had a love for old Ford vehicles and worked as a mechanic for Lockwood Ford in Roseburg. He was also a private contractor, who owned and operated Gallagher Construction. He loved woodworking, traveling, animals, antiques, old vehicles and his family was always a priority.

Mike is survived by children, Michael Dwayne Gallagher of Keizer, Oregon; Patricia Rae Bodenner of Eagle River, Alaska; Pamela Kay Meyers of Lyons, Oregon; Karen Marie Bulkeley of Eugene; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Sansburn of Bovey, Minnesota.

His 23 year old grandson, Scotty Ray Meyers, died in an accident on June 30, 2005.

A memorial service for Mike was held at the time of burial in Perham, Minnesota, on July 29, 2005.
