Randall Lee Powell died at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 22, 1947, Randy was the son of the late Edward Lee Powell and Alene McMullin Powell. He was a 1970 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. On May 10, 1969 he married the love of his life Mary Lynn Dilger in Auburn, Alabama. During his career he had worked in the petro chemical industry as a mechanical engineer. Thirteen years ago they moved to Lake Oconee where he retired in 2009. He was an avid Auburn football fan and he and Mary enjoyed traveling anywhere in their RV to tailgate and cheer the Auburn Tigers to victory. One of his greatest memories was seeing them win the National Championship in 2010. He also enjoyed playing golf and took great pride in taking care of his beautiful home and yard on the lake.
