Hope D. King, 68, died on Thursday (1/2/1992) in Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse.

She was born in Potsdam on Nov. 9, 1923, a daughter of Ernest and Mary O'Brien LaPoint. She was a graduate of Potsdam High School.

She married Allen Emerson King on July 2, 1942 at the Methodist Church. He died on Dec. 8, 1976.

She was employed with Potsdam State University College in the maintenance department until her retirement in 1978.

Surviving were two sons, Wayne, Peru, and Richard, Potsdam; two daughters, Mrs. David (Carolyn) Niles, Chittenango, and Mrs. Bruce (Debra) Russell , West Stockholm; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald LaPoint, Zephyr Heights, FL and Fred LaPoint, Clay, and three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Joyce) Phillips and Mrs. Clyde (Marilyn) Layaw, both of Potsdam, and Mrs. Willard (Manetta) Niles, Delphi Falls.
