Funeral services for Elmer James White, Sr., were scheduled for 2 p.m. toady at Frain Mortuary. Mr. White, 76, 826 N. Falvey St., died Sunday (May 14, 1978) at his home. He had been ill for several years. Mr. White was born Sept. 11, 1901, in Lawrenceburg, Ark., to Ben Mack and Mary Hindshaw White. He was married Aug. 19, 1919, in Arkansas to Hazel Alma Button; she died April 1, 1964. a resident of Winamac since 1951, Mr. White was a retired town employee. He belonged to the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Missouri. Survivors include two daughters, Ida Davis and Lucille Thompson, both of Winamac; two sons, Earl and Elmer Jr., both of Winamac; two brothers, Troy and Odie, both of Popular Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Hester Walls, Portageville, Mo., and Lillie Crawford, Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. One son and one daughter preceded him in death. The Rev. Donald Norrick was to officiate at the funeral services. Burial was to be in the Winamac Cemetery.
