The Grootonk family was in a major car accident when a street car hit their car and drug them 225 feet in March of 1937. The accident had occurred on Mission BLVD in California.
Matilda passed away a little after the accident took place. She was only 9 years old. Her father William V. Grootonk Sr. was suffering from Spinal Cord injuries and passed away not long after her. Her brother William V. Grootonk Jr. incurred a fracture skull (per newspaper article). William Jr. was only 10 years when the accident happened.
This is my Great Aunt....May peace be with our whole family knowing she has been in God's loving hands....
