Elmer was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Cooper Township, Ill., the son of Harry and Vietta Krane Green.
Mr. Green was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Herrin Fertilizer and had also done construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sam Green.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura and Nancy; two sons, Rick and Jeffrey; two sisters, Dorothy and Marjorie; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
