Bruce A. Trinque November 6, 1948 - July 19, 2013 Hebron - Bruce A. Trinque, 64, of Hebron, CT died July 19, 2013. Bruce was born on November 6, 1948 in Providence, RI, son of the late Bill Trinque and Louise Smith Trinque. He is survived by his wife, Melanie, and his daughter, Jen Picicci. of Wilmington NC., He had a life-long love of history.

A native New Englander, He graduated in 1975 from the University of Connecticut with BSE and MS degrees in mechanical engineering and worked as a manufacturing process engineer and a faculty member of Three Rivers Community College.

In the early 1970's Bruce served three years with US Army Special Intelligence.
In his own words,
'in the resolute defense of the beer halls of West
Germany, keeping them safe from the Red Army during the Cold War'

His interest in the Civil War was sparked by the Centennial observations when he was a junior high student. He was one of the country's leading experts on the Civil War and Custer's Last Stand.
Mr. Trinque was editor of The Dispatch, the newsletter of the Southeastern Connecticut Civil War Round Table. The author's long-time interest in the 14th Connecticut Infantry led to research about adjacent units at Gettysburg . His writings about the Civil War and the American West usually delve into the small mysteries and misconceptions which enliven the study of military history.
A prodigious reviewer of historic books, Bruce was held in high esteem as one of top 1000 reviewers and esteemed by members of The Gunroom: The Patrick O'Brian List of the World of the Aubrey/Maturin Novels

A Memorial Service will be held in September .

Rolling Toast for Bruce was held to coincide with a Memorial Service at which our own List Greeter and Baker Doug Essinger-Hileman presided on Friday & Saturday September 20 & 21 2013.
