Thelma Richards Lawson, 91, of 112 Lawson Lane, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late J. W. Lawson and the daughter of the late Lloyd Richards and Mae Keller Richards.
She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a licensed cosmetologist and enjoyed crocheting. She also enjoyed volunteering for Seniors Center and volunteered for many other organizations. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and attended Kirby Church.
Surviving is a son, Steve Lawson (Cassandra) of Gaffney; a brother Fred Richard (Millie) of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Stephanie Baughman, Christopher Lawson and Jason Lawson; seven grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by three brothers, John E. Richards, E. J. Richards and Charles Richards; and two sisters, Betty Hooks and Katie Hammett.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Will Vergara officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Kirby Church, 512 Chandler, S.C., 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
