Elsie Louise Hipwell Costley, 92, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2013. She was born in Plain City, Utah, on October 3, 1920, to Llewellyn and Stella Maw Hipwell. She graduated from Weber High School. She was a lifelong resident of Plain City. All in all, Elsie enjoyed good health and was quoted as saying, "It's been a good life."

She married Paul Delbert Costley on March 5, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on May 8, 1992.

Elsie was a faithful member of the Plain City 2nd LDS Ward, serving as a visiting teacher until the age of 91.

She retired from the IRS, after 19 years of service. She enjoyed her associations with her friends in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Elsie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a quiet and loving woman, who enjoyed the beauty of her flower garden. She taught those around her by her example of love and service.

Surviving are her four children, Janet (Gordon) Hadley, Nancy (Sherman) Barker, Alan (Bonnie) Costley, and Gregory (Terri) Costley; 16 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Elmer Hipwell, and her sister, Ruth Rogers Charlton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 2nd Ward, 2952 North 4200 West, Plain City. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
