Velma Cutkomp Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, Columbus Community Free Methodist Church, Columbus City. Visitation: 4:30-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. COLUMBUS CITY, Iowa #45;- Velma Irena Cutkomp, 98, Columbus City, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Colonial Manor Care Center, Columbus Junction. The Reverend's Jay Davis and David Seelye will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Timothy Cutkomp, Troy Cutkomp, Chad Cutkomp, Eric Johnson, Larry Jennings and Ray Boulton. Honorary casket bearers are David Sult, Jeff Pyla, Bob Emry, Adam Taylor, Bryan Cottman, Brett Hafner, Jason Kneuster, Vic Haan, Arnold Cutkomp, Doran Cutkomp, Ken Purdy, Keith Cutkomp, Burdett Boulton, Myrlen Olsen, Harold Boulton and Mark Perkins. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Cutkomp was born April 1, 1906, in the Lone Oak Community of Louisa County, the daughter of George and Florence Rickey Boulton. She married George Russel Cutkomp Dec. 31, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1963. She was a graduate of Columbus Junction High School. She and her husband made their home on a farm in the Shellbark Community southwest of Columbus Junction. She lived on the farm until a few years after his death. She then moved to Columbus City. She was a member of Columbus City Free Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in the CYC and Women's Missionary Society. She enjoyed attending the Free Methodist Camp Meetings for two weeks in the summer in Birmingham. She was also active in the Shellbark Community and C.C.I.C., Columbus City. She was well-known for her hospitality to friends and relatives and enjoyed inviting others than her family to the family gatherings and other celebrations. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Kenneth and Craig; three sisters; and four brothers.
