Rev Georg Heinrich Wilhelm Reusswig was the 7th child of
Johann Georg Reusswig and Rev Georg Heinrich Wilhelm Reusswig.
He was born in Meerholz, a section of Hessen, Germany. The Reverend married 1st wife Katharina Elisabeth "Kate" Weber and 2nd wife Emilie Fredericka Scheel.

He immigrated to the United States with his brother to Utica, New York. He was ordained a Moravian Minister in 1867 and until his death 1890 was active in organizing many of the "German" Moravian congregations in Minnesota and North Dakota. He organized the congregation in Goshen, North Dakota the year of the birth of his niece, Mary Reusswig Heidenreich. It was in Goshen that she died and is buried in the church graveyard.

With his first wife, Kate, he had four children:
Augusta Katherine, Marie Christine, Louisa Maria* and Amanda Emelia Reusswig.
