David was born on May 18, 1968 in Burlington.
He attended Flynn Elementary School, Hunt Junior High School, and graduated from Burlington High School.
Growing up, David was active in North Burlington Little League, Burlington Amateur Hockey Association, Burlington Parks programs, and Cub Scouts.
David long performed as a maintenance technician with Twincraft, Inc. in Winooski. He was gifted with high speed equipment and prided himself on a strong work ethic. In addition to his career focus, David enjoyed being of service to others. He was known to go out of his way in attending to residents of the Heineberg Senior Center.
David was happiest in the outdoors. He looked forward to hunting, fishing, cycling, and hiking seasons. He made a solo trek to the top of Camel's Hump on his 40th birthday last spring to peacefully reflect on all of the challenges that he had overcome. He was determined to experience the thrill of free fall and successfully completed a parachute jump - a symbol of the adventurous spirit that David embraced. David had recently discovered the joys of ice fishing on Malletts Bay and made a special effort to pass on that gratification to family and friends. There was no place closer to David than the family camp on the Huntington River in Hanksville, where David logged countless heartfelt entries in "Harvey's Memoirs." David loved music and sharing his passion with friends. He could light up a crowd with a stirring rendition of "Follow Me" on stage with his brother's band. As a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and follower of motor sports, David had plenty to cheer about. His smile and warm greetings to others left a trail of memories among the many that he infected with his friendship.
