Winfred was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and previously belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a 1937 graduate of East High School and went on to graduate in 1942 from Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Erie County Tuberculosis Hospital for 14 years and retired as a nursing supervisor from the Veterans Hospital.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Potosnak; one sister, Agnes Potosnak Mattimoe; and a brother and sister both in infancy.
Survivors include one niece Patricia Mattimoe Rodney and her husband Gregory of Greene Township; one great nephew; one great niece, and her husband of Wattsburg; and one sister-in-law Betty Potosnak of Texas (d. 2011).
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
