Services for John Sheridell Gills, of Scottsdale, Ariz., are 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Ebenezer AME Church with burial in the church cemetery. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Gills, 53, died March 28, 2006, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born on December 14, 1952, to John Wesley Gills and Beatrice Bryant Gills.

He was a project manager in banking with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York until 1978. He was a graduate of Dillard University, in New Orleans, where he was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He also worked with Club Mediterranee in Paris, France. In 1979, he worked at Dean Witter until 1981, when he joined Citibank in Scottsdale.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brother, Kenny Gills, of Jonesboro Ga.; and his sister, Valuia Gills, also of Jonesboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
